The name Asus may have sounded very familiar on the ears of Homeland computer users including me as its loyal users. Taiwan companies are relying on innovation to grow and develop into an economic giant as it is now. Here's a bit of a story about one of the pioneers in the world of computers.

A Brief History

Asus story began in 1989, when four computer engineer, namely Wayne Hsieh, Ted Hsu, MT Liao and TH Tung intends to set up a new company to advance the it industry in Taiwan. The name they chose is "Pegasus" which is taken from the term for a mythical creature from Greece. In its development, the name was shortened to "Asus" in order to appear in the early sequences corresponding alphabet.



In contrast to now, then the Asus is based in a small apartment in Taipei, Taiwan, in the field of computer consulting and does not produce homemade hardware like this now. However, after successfully creating and selling motherboards for Intel 486 processors in the late 1980s, the company began to concentrate into hardware construction.
